Vancouver, a Great Vacation City

Vancouver has a high international ranking as it is amongst the world's top ten most “livable” cities. It has also the honour of hosting many international conferences and events, the latest one was the 2010 Winter Olympics. Vancouver is also known as the best retirement city of the world.
Vancouver Internatinoal Airport is located on Sea Island in Richmond, British Colombia, Canada, about 12 km from Downtown Vancouver. It is the second busiest airport of Canada and has won several best international airport awards.
Vancouver is such a city that it offers all sort of outdoor activities suitable to all age groups such as boating, sailing, fishing, hiking, swimming, cycling and even skiing. How much activities you can do in one day, it all depends on your own stamina and energy level.
For a tourist, the Stanley Park, situated in the middle of the city is a must-see place. It's the biggest and most beautiful urban park of Canada on an area of 1000 acres. You can take a horse driven caravan or a tourist bus to take you along the main attractions of the park. You can also take a 10 km walk around the seawall which will take you to all the beaches, Siwash Rock, Lions Gate Bridge, the inner harbor and the coal harbor.
There is a lake in the center of the Park called Beaver Lake. The other large body of water within the Park is known as Lost Lagoon which is located near the Georgia St. Entrance. There is also a big aquarium in the Park, near the Georgia St. Entrance. The park also contains several good replicas of Indian Totem Poles, a miniature train, swimming pools and beaches.
Robson Street is the main shopping street in Vancouver which is a good place to walk, shop and enjoy the modern urban commercial atmosphere. If you want to relax during shopping stop by a local coffee shop.
There is a classical 15th century Chinese garden in the middle of the city of Vancouver. The gardens present visitors with a breathtaking display of the architecture, landscaping and culture of the Chinese people. Chinatown is located in the area between Pender, Georgia, Gore, and Taylor streets, east of downtown.
Another attraction is Grouse mountain which is located only 15 minutes drive from Downtown Vancouver. From the mountain you can have a beautiful view of Vancouver and it's great natural beauty. Don't forget to take a picture for your album.
From Vancouver port you can take a ferry ride along with your vehicle and visit Victoria, another beautiful city and capital of British Colombia. Ferry takes you through the most scenic beauty of green islets and the blue sea. Ferry riding is a great exciting experience which one should not miss. Ferry service to Vancouver Island was started in 1960. BC Ferries has a fleet of 36 vessels equipped with all modern facilities and serves to 47 ports. From Vancouver port you can also take a cruise ship and enjoy the luxurious sea voyage!
